Back Door Closer Switch Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The power back door drive unit (power back door ECU) inputs signals from the full-latch switch, sector switch and back door courtesy light switch, which are built into the back door lock. Based on these switch signals, the latch position of the back door lock is determined.

1.

READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (HALF LATCH SW)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Back Door / Data List /

(e) According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.

Back Door (Power Back Door ECU)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Back Door / Data List /

(e) According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BACK DOOR ECU - POWER BACK DOOR ECU)

(a) Disconnect the V2 back door ECU connector.



(b) Disconnect the O30 power back door ECU connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

(a) Remove the back door lock DOOR LOCK: BACK DOOR LOCK: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia) .

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

(a) Disconnect the V5 door lock connector.

(b) Disconnect the V2 and V3 ECU connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

REPLACE POWER BACK DOOR DRIVE UNIT

(a) Temporarily replace the power back door drive unit with a new or normally functioning one DOOR LOCK: BACK DOOR LOCK: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia) .

(a) Clear the DTCs DOOR / HATCH: BACK DOOR CLOSER SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR (2008 Sequoia) .

(a) Check the DTCs DOOR / HATCH: BACK DOOR CLOSER SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR (2008 Sequoia) .
